COVID-19 – Updates & Information

The Australian Medical Association (WA) has always put the health of our community first. Our stand on COVID-19 has been no different.

The AMA (WA) is working for the community and is at the forefront of action to contain and manage the spread of COVID-19.

We have been relentless in our advocacy around COVID-19 since early 2020. We have been calling for proper PPE and stricter quarantine measures to protect our healthcare workers, hotel quarantine workers and the wider community for many months.

The AMA (WA), led by President Dr Mark Duncan-Smith, will continue to engage with the WA State Government to improve the standard of our pandemic response.

COVID-19 Preparedness

The AMA (WA) has released a COVID-19 Preparedness Guide for General Practices & Private Practices in January 2022.

The AMA (WA) released a COVID Emergence Plan in November 2021.

Practice Management Resources

The AMA (WA) provides members with a number of resources to assist in managing and operating a general or private practice, including expert guidance, professional support and practice management resources. Setting up, operating and managing a business that provides medical services is complex, particularly in an environment dominated by COVID-19.
