Nominate a colleague for the President’s Award

About the Award

Awarded at the discretion of the AMA (WA) President, the President’s Award accolade acknowledges individuals who have gone above and beyond in their contribution to the profession, healthcare and the community in Western Australia. It celebrates leadership, advocacy, and a commitment to improving healthcare outcomes.

Nominees will be evaluated on the following criteria:

Exceptional Contribution: Demonstrated outstanding impact on healthcare, the profession, or community wellbeing in Western Australia.

Leadership: Shown initiative, influence, or innovation in driving positive change within healthcare or community settings.

Advocacy: Actively championed causes, policies, or initiatives that support better healthcare access, equity, or outcomes.

Commitment: Consistent and dedicated service to improving the lives of others through health-related work or community engagement.

Impact: Evidence of lasting, meaningful outcomes resulting from the nominee’s efforts, recognised by peers or the public.

Nominations are to be submitted online through the nomination form below.

Nominations should be accompanied with adequate evidence supporting the criteria of contribution to their profession, leadership, advocacy, commitment and impact, and must be supported by referees who can attest to the nominee’s contribution.

  • Nominees do not have to be a medical practitioner or member of AMA (WA).
  • Nominations close 5.30 pm Monday 30 June 2025.
  • Winner will be announced on Saturday 9 August at MEDBALL25.
  • All nomination information and material remains the property of the AMA (WA) Award Panel.
  • All nomination information and material can be utilised by the AMA (WA) to publicly recognise the award recipient and award finalists.
  • Information about the award finalists and winner may be published in the AMA (WA) bimonthly journal Medicus and/or Med e-Link and social media.
  • The decision of the selection panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
