Make Smoking History campaign shares new chapter in the story
Tuesday July 22, 2025
Cancer Council WA has released a new wave of campaign ads as part of its WA-made Make Smoking History initiative. The updated How To Tell You campaign continues the story of a man recently diagnosed with cancer, this time focusing on the emotional moment he shares the news with a close friend.
This next chapter builds on the original message, prompting viewers to reflect not only on the toll of cancer on family, but also on the ripple effects felt by friends and loved ones.
The campaign is grounded in research showing that many people are motivated to quit smoking when they consider how a smoking-related illness could impact the people they care about.
