2020 AGPT applications are now closed

Wednesday May 1, 2019

Applications for the 2020 Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program are now closed. If you are interested in a career in GP, speak with WAGPET, the sole provider of the AGPT program in WA. You can speak with one of their friendly staff by phone on 08 9473 8200, by email at gpcareers@wagpet.com.au or LiveChat on their website at https://www.wagpet.com.au/.

GP as a career has the breadth, scope and complexity of treating patients of any age and gender and sees patients through all stages of illness. This creates enormous variety and is professionally challenging.

As a GP, you never know what is about to walk through the door. Each day, GPs investigate and analyse how culture, psychological and sociological circumstances affect people’s health and experience of disease. GPs use this understanding to empower patients to lead healthier lives.

“Every day in GP is a challenge. However, facing these challenges every single day with every single patient is what makes general practice a stimulating and fulfilling career, and overcoming these challenges to improve a patient’s health is what keeps me coming back for more.” – Dr Sophie Genoni, WAGPET registrar

Western Australian General Practice Education and Training (WAGPET) is the sole provider of Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program in Western Australia. WAGPET connects GP registrars with experienced practices and supervisors across the state, giving them the real-world experience, insights and knowledge needed to become the best GPs they can be.
