Associate Professor Capolingua is a practicing GP and Practice Principal of Floreat Medical. She was Federal President of the AMA between 2007 and 2009 and AMA (WA) State President between 1998 and 2000. Associate Professor Capolingua served on the Executive of the Federal AMA for eight years and was Chair of the Federal AMA’s Ethics and Medicolegal Committee, Chair of the Taskforce on Indigenous Health and Chair of the Board of AMPCo, the AMA publishing company.


Associate Professor Capolingua has served on the Human Genetics Advisory Committee and the Australian Health Ethics Committee, both sub committees of the NHMRC. She has been a member of the Medical Board of WA, the Professional Services Review Committee, the Board of Mercy Care and the Board of Healthway. Currently, Associate Professor Capolingua is a member of the UWA Raine Research Committee, the Board of Governors of the UNDA, the Board of SJOG Healthcare, the Council of MDA National and is the Director of Doctor Liaison at SJOG Hospital Subiaco. She is currently the Chair of the Board of Healthway.
