Tobacco & E-Cigarette Control and Education

The Australian Medical Association (WA) has been a strong and persistent advocate for tougher government policy and legislation to cut smoking rates and the harm caused by nicotine addiction and smoking. More than 1,500 Western Australians die from avoidable tobacco-related illnesses every year and tobacco smoking continues to be a leading cause of preventable death and disease in Australia.

The AMA (WA) continues to lobby the WA Government to take more action on tobacco control to minimise the risks in order to protect public health.
