Climate Change & Health Advocacy

Climate Health is a topic high on the Australian Medical Association (WA)’s advocacy agenda. More and more evidence is emerging on the effects of climate change on health in Western Australia and around the world.  Increased concentrations of greenhouse gases, higher temperatures, declining rainfall, changing weather patterns, rising sea levels and increased fire risk are among the climate change implications that are causing health concerns.

Reassuringly, there is also evidence that suggests that there are significant health benefits and opportunities for financial savings that can come from implementing sustainability measures and climate change actions.
