Interested in Working in Australia?

The AMA sponsors suitably qualified nurses for periods of between three months and four years to work in Australia.

Register with the AMA (WA)

To register your interest to work in Australia please forward your curriculum vitae:

  • email to recruitment@amawa.com.au;
  • fax to (+618) 9273 3043; or
  • post to Australian Medical Association (WA), PO Box 133, Nedlands, Western Australia 6909

Please be sure to advise of your potential commencement date and the period that you would be seeking to work in Australia. You will then be contacted regarding additional information such as certified copies of your professional qualifications and a list of references which can be contacted prior to sponsorship.

All nursing employment in Australia is subject to registration being granted and maintained by the state Nurses Board.

In Western Australia (the state in which you are likely to commence employment) it is essential for the AMA (WA) to sight your Nurses Board of Western Australia Registration Certificate and your current practicing certificate before sponsorship can commence.

As each state's requirements are slightly different, the first step in this process is to send your curriculum vitae to the AMA. We will then contact you and guide you with the process required for registration within other states.
