As there is a recognised shortage of registered general nurses in Western Australia, the AMA advertises worldwide for suitable nurses, sponsoring overseas nurses to work in rural parts of the state and in other specialised nursing areas in the Perth metropolitan area. Local graduates are also placed in both metropolitan and rural areas for short-term periods and in long term permanent positions.
