AMA (WA) secures workers' comp rebate increase
Following representation by the AMA (WA), a 4.23 per cent increase
in insurance rebates for claims for reimbursement of medical fees
for treatment of compensable injuries in the workers’ compensation
system, has been agreed to by WorkCover WA.
The new rebates require formal gazettal and are scheduled to apply
from November 1 to align with adjustments to the AMA List of Medical
Services and Fees and rebates generally.
The increase takes into account movements in the Australian Bureau
of Statistics Wage Price Index for WA, the Consumer Price Index
and the AMA’s Medical Fees Index.
“It’s another example of the tangible benefits the
AMA provides GPs, other specialists and their patients,” said
AMA (WA) President Prof Geoff Dobb.
