Hospital survey aims to benefit junior doctors

The The AMA (WA) Doctors in Training Committee is about to launch its Hospital Ratings Survey 2007 across the major tertiary and peripheral hospitals in WA. In 2004, the AMA-initiated survey rated issues pertinent to doctors such as pay, annual leave, rosters and hospital facilitates in Sir Charles Gairdner, Royal Perth and Fremantle Hospitals. As a result of the survey, improvements in several areas were achieved.

The aims of the 2007 survey are:

  • To identify positive and negative aspects of different hospitals in order to raise the standards across all hospitals.
  • To formally acknowledge areas that have been improved
  • To identify new areas that are of ongoing concern
  • To enable junior doctors to make informed judgements when choosing their rotations.
  • To ensure your hospital complies with the AMA Industrial Agreement.

Junior doctors are strongly encouraged to complete the survey and assist the AMA in facilitating changes which will ultimately improve working conditions the doctors. As a token of the AMA's appreciation for completing the survey, junior doctors will receive a LED light torch keyring.

For further details on the survey please contact Charlene Suresh at the AMA on 9273 3000.
