Following on from surveys conducted in 2004 the AMA (WA) DIT Committee decided it was time for a further survey to be conducted to understand what Junior Doctors felt about issues like pay, leave entitlements, term allocations, education/supervision, rosters, safe hours, hospital administration, security and workplace and study facilities.
Survey Reports have been generated for the tertiary/teaching hospitals ie. RPH, FHHS, SCGH, PMH and KEMH. You can view these survey reports using the links below.
Also provided below is an overview, which seeks to summarise the methodology utilised and the key findings at each hospital and across each hospital. It has also been possible at RPH, SCGH and FHHS to review the results received in 2004 and compare these with 2008 to identify whether there have been any improvements.
The AMA (WA) DIT Committee intends to utilise the information contained within the Survey Reports to have further discussions with Hospital and Medical Administrations to ensure that where problems are occurring that these are reviewed or rectified.
