AMA (WA) Foundation Charity Golf Day - your chance to help our kids

This popular event on the golfing calendar helps raise much needed funds for the AMA Foundation's Dr YES (Youth Education Sessions) program, which delivers health education programs to thousands of high school students each year – and has been doing so for more than 10 years.

The 2009 golf day was another resounding success, with 100 golfers taking to the Royal Perth Golf Club fairways to raise valuable funds for Dr YES.

The top three teams of the day were:

  1. Satterley Property Group
  2. Perth Radiological Clinic
  3. Hollywood Private Hospital

Following the golf, the players joined their partners and team mates for the 17th annual AMA Foundation Golf Day dinner.

The 2009 Dr YES Coordinators entertained guests with an interactive module designed to address the issue of mental health – not an easy topic to discuss with teenagers.

A highlight of the dinner was a generous donation of $10,000 to the Dr YES program from home building company Riverstone. In addition to this, more than $20,000 was raised through the auction of sporting memorabilia, jewellery and holidays.

AMA (WA) Executive Director Paul Boyatzis said the day was an outstanding success with a total of more than $27,000 being raised for the AMA (WA) Foundation.

It is planned that the 2010 AMA (WA) Foundation Charity Golf Day will tee off on Friday, October 29 at Royal Perth Golf Club – stay tuned for more!
