AMA Foundation

The AMA (WA) Foundation was established in 1996, as a means by which the medical community could act to address issues of youth health in Western Australia. Arising out of the concerns of Western Australian doctors and community members, the Foundation has received strong local support.

The Foundation continues to exist as a not-for-profit organisation through donations, external funding and the support of the Australian Medical Association (WA).

From humble beginnings just a few years ago, the Foundation has been able to develop and maintain a highly regarded youth health program, through two main arms, the Dr YES (Youth Education Sessions) program and the Youth Friendly Doctor training program.
